The Jaat community thrives on respect, safety, and trust. These rules apply to buyers and sellers across all categories, with emphasis on our focus areas (phones, electronics, beauty).

Respectful conduct

• No harassment, hate speech, or abusive behavior.
• Communicate clearly and politely; resolve issues in good faith.
• Keep conversations and negotiations on-platform.

Product integrity

• No counterfeit or misrepresented items. Phones/electronics must be genuine; beauty products must be authentic and lawful.
• Accurate descriptions (condition, specs, warranty) are required.
• Respect prohibited/restricted items. Report violations promptly.

Privacy & data

• Do not share or misuse personal data obtained through the platform.
• Follow applicable data/privacy laws.

Payments & safety

• Normal shops and businesses may collect buyer payments directly through their own M-Pesa, cash, pickup, bank transfer, or WhatsApp agreement.
• Use Jaat Protected checkout only where the listing or order clearly offers protected payment.
• For meetups, verify identity and inspect items before handover.
• Do not misrepresent a direct shop payment as Jaat Protected.

Content & reviews

• No fake reviews, manipulation, or spam.
• Feedback should be honest and based on actual transactions.

Enforcement

We may remove content, suspend accounts, or take other action for violations of these rules, legal non-compliance, fraud risk, or safety concerns.
